Route Assistants are needed. A route assistant assists the mail carriers in picking up food. It is a great family project! We recommend 2+ people per vehicle, that way one can drive and the others can collect food along a designated postal route. Each car will receive Food Bank of Northern Indiana magnets for the sides of the vehicle, a map of a postal route and food drop-off points. These individuals must have a cell phone and a vehicle and will assist letter carriers in picking up food donations along their routes. Route assistants are needed for two shifts 9:00 a.m. – 12:30p.m. and 12:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. A large amount of route assistants is crucial for the success of this year’s drive.
